Curtain Call and PLASA are partnering up to help get the industry back to work efficiently, quickly and at scale. PLASA members will get preferential access to Curtain Call’s new jobs and talent network. All PLASA member subscriptions to Curtain Call will also feature a donation to the industry campaign group #WeMakeEvents.
This is terrific news for both sides of the industry: allowing employers to quickly source, connect with and hire talent; and enabling freelancers to manage their availability and share their skills with a targeted audience of industry employers.
We have always believed that everyone deserves to take a bow - now more than ever. Our industries have had a tough time of it lately (to say the least), and we are bouncing back. Employers desperately need access to a skilled workforce and we are excited to be the platform that PLASA has chosen to partner with.
The grant-funded service is of course free for freelancers to access. Unlike other sites, we do not charge for access to jobs. So sign up, set your availability and showcase your skills.
If your organisation is a PLASA member and you would like to take up this fantastic opportunity of access to all of Curtain Call’s services at a reduced rate, get in touch for a unique 15% discount code.
If you’re on the fence, there is more information here. We’d also be more than happy to set up a demo for you. Simply email firstname.lastname@example.org to set one up.

CURTAIN CALL TEAMS UP WITH PLASA TO LAUNCH NEW RECRUITMENT PLATFORM FOR LIVE EVENTS
Following a successful soft launch at PLASA Show at London Olympia - the industry’s first major trade fair since the pandemic - Curtain Call is now opening up membership to all employers and PLASA members.
Curtain Call rebuilt their membership platform in 2020 with government investment via multiple Innovate UK grants. A unique search and match algorithm makes it easy for employers to find skilled, available freelancer technicians and creatives for project-based or long-term positions.
The platform is free to join for freelancers and already has approximately 10,000 members in the talent pool.
Early adopter companies using the platform include Ambassador Theatre Group, Donmar Warehouse, Sonia Friedman Productions and White Light.
Peter Heath, Managing Director of PLASA, said:
“Curtain Call is a fantastic platform which brings employers together with skilled workers while also creating accessible pathways for newcomers into our industry. We couldn’t be more pleased to bring this service to our members, particularly after the prolonged period of industry closure and loss of personnel to other sectors. This partnership will certainly help to connect up and regenerate our sector’s workforce.”
Matt Humphrey, Founder of Curtain Call said:
“We are thrilled to partner with PLASA and launch our new platform at a crucial time for the industry. Finding skilled freelancers who are available has always been a challenge, and the pandemic has made that harder than ever. We’re keen to support the industry in getting back to work quickly, efficiently and at scale. Our new platform, and this partnership does just that.”
CurtainCall is a professional marketplace for entertainment and live events.
Our projects are driven by our belief and mantra that everyone deserves to take a bow. We work with employers, associations, industry bodies and freelancers to create a platform that enables and empowers our skilled workforce.
