Jim Broadbent (pictured) will star in the premiere of a new play by Martin McDonagh at The Bridge Theatre next year.
A Very Very Very Dark Matter, which begins previews in October 2018, centres on the legendary storyteller Hans Christian Andersen.
According to press material the play is "as dangerous, twisted and funny as [McDonagh's] National Theatre and Broadway hit The Pillowman", and "travels deep into the abysses of the imagination".
The production will be directed by Matthew Dunster and designed by Anna Fleischle, both of whom worked on McDonagh's most recent play Hangmen at the Royal Court.
Broadbent, whose many credits include The Pillowman, was last on stage in the West End production of A Christmas Carol.
The inaugural production at The Bridge, Young Marx, continues until 31 December. Further casting for A Very Very Very Dark Matter is still to be announced.Back to news
