The shortlists have been announced for the 2016 Evening Standard Awards, winners of which will be revealed at the Old Vic next month.
Nominees in the acting categories include Kenneth Branagh, Helen McCrory (pictured), Ralph Fiennes, Noma Dumezweni and Glenn Close. Leading the way among the shows is Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, with three nods, while National Theatre is the most nominted venue with 11.
The Evening Standard Awards will be announced in a ceremony at the Old Vic on 13 November, hosted by Elton John.
