Helena is a versatile, reliable and fun performer, having worked in all aspects of the industry including: theatre, film, commercials, fringe, writing, devising, choreographing and skin work. A graduate in Musical Theatre from Performance Preparation Academy (Guildford) 2016 and The Voiceover Kickstart Programme by Guy Michaels August 2018. Helena has just completed her first UK National Live Tour of Cebeebies 'Kate and Mim Mim' playing Mim Mim. There is no job too big or too small and she greatly looks forward to working with you and assisting you in producing the highest quality finished project, whether it is in theatre, writing, devising, TV, film, still photos, commercials or choreographing.
Helena is a member of a comedy improvisation group called Comic Sans Script and is experienced with multi-rolling, improvisation, creating characters and comedy. ( 'History of Poole Maritime' (short tour round Bournemouth and Poole May 2017) Helena changed characters and accents 11 times in 40 mins).
Helena loves fringe theatre and in June 2017 portrayed the 'Caterpillar' in a new adult adaption of 'Alice in Wonderland' at the Bread and Roses Theatre, where on the Friday night Helena managed to learn the part of the White Rabbit in 4 hours and do both her original Caterpillar/Ensemble role and the White Rabbit role in front of the reviewer. This is what they had to say: "The actress playing the White Rabbit was hospitalised so Helena Mitchell (who also plays the Caterpillar) has taken on the role at a day’s notice and she gives possibly the strongest and most believable performance." Helena dipped her toes into the world of writing in July 2017, by co-writing a children's live interactive show at G Live in Guildford. ('Maisys out of Space Adventure')
Helena loves all aspects of the industry and made her debut choreographing 'Seussical the Musical Jr' in August 2017 at 'The Barn Theatre' in Cirencester.
Helena's passion for panto shine through when she portrayed the role of 'Snow White' in 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' at 'The Elgiva Theatre' in Chesham December 2017.
Helena is a very hard working, bubbly, organised and reliable person. She is a fantastic self motivator and is also great at working with others to achieve what is best for the production as a whole. Previous employers have said she "is a fantastic member of the team and a joy to have in the rehearsal room". She is also a passionate about bringing theatre to all members of the community and regularly hosts and organises charity fundraising concerts and evenings of variety entertainment.
Helena is trained in acting, singing and dancing. She has just completed the Voiceover Kickstart Programme by Guy Michaels and is now a member of The Voiceover Kickstart. (Helena has a Mandy Voices profile for her professional voiceover work). She plays the flute and piano and is currently learning guitar. She has always been a very creative and musical person, learning her first instrument at the age of 5. She is fascinated in observing people, their different characteristics and lifestyles and using this skill and knowledge within her acting and character choices, to make each character more truthful and realistic, whist also pushing and challenging herself and the boundaries.
Helena is particularly interested and open to all aspects of the industry and has a great deal of respect for all members of the theatrical industry.
