Three fun-loving students
Aged 18 and house-sharing for the first time
It’s 1984 and as Prince says ‘Let’s Go Crazy’
Aged eighteen, three women join forces at university. Life is fun. Life is intense. Together they feel unbeatable. As Di and Viv and Rose grow up, chance and choice put their closeness to the test. They must thrash out how to work, how to love, how to live.
This hilarious and heart-warming hit comedy that won over audiences for two sell-out runs at Hampstead Theatre is now on sale for a limited run from January 22 at the Vaudeville Theatre, starring three award-winning actresses; Tamzin Outhwaite (Sweet Charity, New Tricks for TV) Samantha Spiro (Hello Dolly! [Olivier Award] at the Open Air Theatre and Psychobitches for TV) and Jenna Russell (Born and Bred for TV, Sunday in the Park with George [Olivier Award]).
Amelia Bullmore, prolific writer for TV and radio and creator and star of ITV’s Scott & Bailey has written this effervescent and sharply-observed comedy which poses the question…
‘Can the friends we make at 18 really stand the test of time?’
Life is full of surprises…
Di and Viv and Rose premiered at Hampstead Downstairs in 2011 where it was a sell-out success. Hampstead Downstairs produces new plays in front of a paying audience but without formal press evaluation; the programme allows writers and directors to trial new work, with a view to transferring to a wider audience, ready for critical assessment.Di and Viv and Rose transferred to Hampstead Theatre’s Main Stage in 2013, the first in-house transfer of its kind. Other Hampstead Downstairs Productions have transferred to the West End and toured regionally and internationally.
