Shasta lives in the cruel land of Carlormen. One day he discovers he is going to be bought by a passing lord, and decides he must run away. He gets help from the lord's horse, Bree, who comes from the land of Narnia and can, of course, talk. Their adventures together take them to the bustling capital city, to encounters with Narnian royalty, lions, a mysterious hermit, and an invading Calormen army led by the wicked prince Rabadash determined to overcome Narina and its neighboring Archenland and make it subject to Calormen rule.

The Hamburg version of the show was much brighter and more cheerful than the productions in London and Vienna. The size of the cast (22 cats) and the names of the cats (Sillabub, Pouncival, Tumblebrutus, Genghis/Dschingis) were based on the Broadway production. Les Miserables is the story of the power struggle between Jean Valean and the Police Inspector Javert over a period of 20 years. Jean Valjean is released on parole after 19 years on the chain gang and finds that the yellow ticket-of-leave he must, by law, display condemns him to be an outcast, forcing him to seek refuge with the Bishop of Digne. Caught stealing silver, Valjean is spared from further imprisonment by the Bishop, who lies for him and sends him on his way. Written in 1888 by August Strindberg, Miss Julie is set on Midsummer's Eve on the estate of a Count in Sweden. Miss Julie finds herself drawn to a named Jean, who is particularly well-travelled, well-mannered and well-read but he is engaged to the cook, Christine. Miss Julie and Jean's relationship escalates rapidly to feelings of love and is subsequently consummated. Over the course of the play Miss Julie and Jean battle until Jean convinces her that the only way to escape her predicament is to commit suicide.Read more
