Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

2013-2017 | Theatre Royal Drury Lane Directed by Sam Mendes

ROALD DAHL's deliciously dark tale of young Charlie Bucket and the mysterious confectioner Willy Wonka comes to life in a brand new West End musical directed by Academy Award® winner Sam Mendes.

When Charlie wins a golden ticket to the weird and wonderful Wonka Chocolate Factory, it's the chance of a lifetime to feast on the sweets he's always dreamed of. But beyond the gates astonishment awaits, as down the sugary corridors and amongst the incredible edible delights, the five lucky winners discover not everything is as sweet as it seems.

Featuring ingenious stagecraft, the wonder of the original story that has captivated the world for almost 50 years is brought to life with music by Marc Shaiman, and lyrics by Scott Wittman and Marc Shaiman (Grammy® winners for Hairspray; Smash), a book by award-winning playwright and adaptor David Greig (The Bacchae; Tintin In Tibet), set and costume designs by Mark Thompson (Mamma Mia!; One Man, Two Guvnors) and choreography by Peter Darling (Billy Elliot The Musical; Matilda The Musical).

A chocolate garden, an army of squirrels and the curiously peculiar Oompa-Loompas must be believed to be seen in this gigantic new musical that is choc-full of fantastical treats to dazzle your senses.

Shrek The Musical

Shrek The Musical

2011-2017 | Theatre Royal Drury Lane Directed by Rob Ashford

Based on the Oscar-winner animation film, Shrek the Musical is an all-singing, all-dancing extravaganza about an ogre and his love for a princess. Delightfully enchanting, hugely entertaining and definitely larger than life, the much-loved musical comedy is a brilliant blend of light-hearted humour and satire, making it a great show for the whole family. Shrek the Musical captures all the charm and charisma of the film, and features an all-new musical score, save the Shrek anthem 'I'm a Believer'.

The West End production of Shrek the Musical sees screen and stage actor Nigel Lindsay in the title role. Actress, singer and presenter (and judge on Britain?s Got Talent) Amanda Holden plays the lovely Princess Fiona. British comedian, actor and rapper Richard Blackwood plays the talkative Donkey, while the short and sour Lord Farquaad is played by EastEnders star Nigel Harman.

Afraid of being ratted out, Fagin, his sinister associate Bill Sikes and girlfriend Nancy abduct Oliver. Oliver seems doomed to a miserable life. But a twist in fate sends ever-greedy Mr Bumble and Widow Corney scurrying over to Mr Brownlow's home with a locket left to Oliver. Mr Brownlow recognises the locket-owner as his niece.
